This evening at around 6:45 P.M. Flagstaff Regional 911 center received a 911 call from a driver in the area of Lone Tree and Butler saying a city bus had just passed them. On the electronic sign board of the bus, a message read, “Emergency on board, Call 911.” At the same time, another call came into the 911 center from a passenger indicating an adult male was on the bus and possibly armed. The male had allegedly instructed the driver to “keep driving and not to stop.” While multiple officers were en route to the area, reports came in that all passengers had been let off the bus, leaving only the suspect and the driver on board. Within 2 minutes, Officers spotted the bus traveling along Huntington and Lucky Ln. The bus came to a stop in front of the Walmart along Huntington. The driver advised officers that the suspect punched him in the head when trying to call for help, then ran off the bus abruptly near NAPA Auto Parts.
Officers were able to locate the suspect a short time later behind Sam’s Club and arrested. It was determined he was also wanted for questioning stemming from an incident that took place at the speedi car wash earlier in the day.
