Flagstaff Police Department- MEDIA RELEASE
The Flagstaff Police Department has recently received two reports of a similarly described person approaching teen and preteen girls and attempting to lure them into his vehicle in the Sunnyside neighborhood while the girls were walking home from school. We are asking the public to be aware of their surroundings and immediately report any suspicious behavior they see especially if it involves adults approaching children while they are walking home from school. Please obtain a good vehicle and driver description including the license plate number if you are able.
On Thursday, 1/12/17, at approximately 4:50 PM the mother of a local 16 year old girl informed police that her daughter was approached by an unknown adult male near West Street and Izabel Street while she was walking home. The man asked the girl personal questions. He followed her until she reached the area of Center and 6th. The man was described as a man as a Native American male in his mid-twenties. He had no facial hair was thin and wearing a black baseball hat. He was driving a white Ford four door sedan with dark tinted windows.
On Friday, 1/13/17, the mother of a local 12 year old girl reported that her daughter was contacted by an unidentified male subject on Izabel Street near Sixth Avenue while she was walking home. He approached the girl and attempted to lure her into his vehicle. He followed her for several blocks while she ran home. The man was described as a dark skinned Native American male in his early 20’s. He was thin and had no facial hair. He had thick eyebrows and was not wearing glasses. He was wearing a grey shirt and a reddish blue beanie. He was driving a gold or tan four door sedan with no tint.
