Flagstaff teen arrested after high speed pursuit

Winslow, AZ- On November 23rd, 2019 at approximately 7:46 p.m., The Winslow police department, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety we’re conducting a DUI enforcement detail in Winslow. Corporal Barron with the Winslow police department attempted to stop a 2011 BMW for speeding on State Route 87 at mile marker 342. The vehicle failed to stop and continued to accelerate, reaching speeds over 100 miles an hour.

The vehicle was finally stopped in the 500 block of East Oak Street in an Alleyway. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Antonia Brito, 19, of Flagstaff, was arrested. Marilena Ballegos, 20, of Phoenix, a passenger in the car was also arrested. Two juveniles, 6 and 16 years of age, were found also to be passengers in the vehicle.

Antonia Brito was arrested and transported to the Navajo County jail for unlawful flight, underage driving with liquor in body, speed in excess of 85 miles an hour, driving on a suspended license. 2 counts of aggravated DUI (driving on a suspended license and person under the age of 15 inside the vehicle)  DUI slightest degree in endangerment. Marilena Ballegos was arrested and transported to the Navajo County jail for underage possession of alcohol.

The two juvenile passengers were released to their parents.
