At approximately 10:45 PM Sunday night, Highway Patrol/ DPS units attempted to pull over a 2018 black Chevy Camero with Texas plates for excessive speed along the I-40 just west of Bellemont. The car refused to pull over and attempted to evade Troopers by reaching speeds over 120 miles per hour. Around 11 pm, the pursuit reached Flagstaff city limits. The suspect exited at Flagstaff and Flagstaff Police located the vehicle at Butler and Milton. Once they tried to pull the vehicle over, the suspect sped away at a high rate of speed. Flagstaff Police chose not to pursue the suspect due to high speeds. DPS began pursuing the suspect again on Country Club at Bear Paw in the Continental neighborhood. Spike strips were set up at numerous locations, but Officers lost the suspect in the Country Club area neighborhood. It is not yet known if the suspect was later apprehended. This is a developing story. No further information is available at this time.
