UPDATE From Flagstaff Police:
On 3-9-17, at approximately 12:20 PM, Officers with the Flagstaff Police Department responded to 400 West Elm Avenue, Flagstaff High School, in reference to a report that a student had found a threatening note. The student immediately notified school administration. School Administration reported the incident to police and we have been working closely with the school to investigate this incident.
The note indicated there would be a “Columbine” type incident today or sometime in the month of March. Investigators have since been assigned to the case and have worked on it throughout the day. At this time there is no information to indicate that the threat is credible. It also does not appear that the juveniles who turned the note in had anything to do with writing the note.
Next week school will not be in session due to spring break.
We will work with school officials after spring break to ensure the safety of the school.
