Alleged Distraught Man With Gun on Bus

This post was delayed due to the nature of the incident. This information came from police scanner traffic and has not been confirmed by police.

UPDATE: Police saying this was likely a false report of a gun from the 911 caller and was possibly a cell phone he had in his hand.

We have received multiple calls regarding several police cars going lights and siren along Butler.

Flagstaff Police and NAU Police received a 911 call roughly 20 minutes ago reference an adult male at a bus stop near Rt66 and Milton, screaming and waiving a gun in the air. Caller said the man appeared to be on drugs. He was described as a Native American or Hispanic Male wearing a black beanie and tank top.

Schools in the area were informed and precautionary measures taken. Officers obtained information that the subject was on a city bus at one point. The bus was located and stopped in front of the walmart along Huntington. The suspect was located on the bus a detained by Officers without incident. It is not yet known if a gun was found on him. Further details will be posted if and when Flagstaff Police provides them to us.
