Subject in custody after imminent threat reported on NAU Campus

Below is a player that contains the recordings of Flagstaff and NAU police officers as they close in and negotiate with an armed suicidal man near the NAU campus. The suspect was eventually taken into custody without anyone being injured. The subject has been identified as 19 year old Christopher Roy Crismon. He was booked in the Coconiono County Jail on numerous charges including discharging a weapon within city limits.

IMPORTANT! This audio was being monitored by our staff of Volunteer Reporters at the time of the incident using our private scanners. We elected to NOT release certain details at the time of the incident to protect the integrity of the scene and the safety of the officers. This scanner traffic was NOT being aired to the public by FLAGscanner nor any other online streaming source at the time of the incident.

UPDATE 12:36am– The subject is in custody. Further details surrounding this incident will be available later this morning.

UPDATE 12:21am – Police do have eyes on the subject, and has indicated he has a firearm or weapon. Negotiations are happening between police and the subject.

UPDATE 12:17am – We are currently monitoring the situation and post any updates as we get them. Multiple police agencies working the situation at this time. It is advisable to avoid the area as police do their work.

“NAU Alert Imminent threat reported on FLG Campus near Knoles Parking Garage – Avoid the area. Take immediate cover – details to follow.”
