Flagstaff Police Department MEDIA RELEASE
On 11-16-16, at approximately 7:16 PM, Officers with the Flagstaff Police Department responded to the train tracks near East Route 66 and North First Street in reference to a report that a person was trespassing. Upon arrival Officers learned the person had been struck by an Eastbound train. The person was pronounced deceased on scene. Multiple roadways were blocked while the investigation was being conducted however they are all open at this time.
The deceased has been identified but their identification is being withheld until their next of kin can be notified. This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as the investigation progresses.

Flagstaff police, and medical officials are on the scene of a accident involving a train near First St and Route 66. The call came in at 9:15 PM as a trespass in progress/ person laying down on the tracks. When officers arrived, they found the subject, only described as a Native American Male pinned underneath the train. We are closely following the situation and will post updates as we get them. Currently, the train is stopped and blocking numerous rail crossings on the east side of Flagstaff. This page will auto refresh every 3 minutes as we listen to the scanner recordings.
UPDATE: Authorities and declared the victim deceased.
