Early morning multi-vehicle crash closes I-17 Southbound between Flagstaff and Kachina Village for about 15 minutes, 4 Patients transported.
Units from Flagstaff Fire, Highlands Fire, Guardian Ambulance, DPS, and CCSO responded to a serious accident involving a vehicle which struck the back of a pick-up truck pulling a trailer. One Patient in the pick-up truck suffered severe head and facial injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle by responding personnel. A total of 4 Patients were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center with varying injuries. Sleep was apparently a factor which lead to the accident. This accident occurred this morning just after 5:00 am and Highlands Fire recommends taking frequent breaks and not driving if you are sleepy.
