Flagstaff Fire Dept responds to train fire Saturday

April 24th, 2017 at 1:51 PM

The Flagstaff Fire Department responded one Battalion Chief, one engine, one water tender and one wild land engine to a report of a train engine on fire at approximately 6 pm on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017.  Coconino County Sheriff’s Officers assisted with locating the engine experiencing trouble.  Access for fire department vehicles posed a very real difficulty.  Once fire department personnel arrived on scene, the BNSF responsible party had stated the fire had been extinguished by train personnel.  The Flagstaff Fire Department wants to remind everyone to never play around railroad tracks and to be watchful of situations that may need emergency personnel response.
