Flagstaff fire fighters battle chimney fire Monday night

April 17th, 2018 at 8:47 AM

At approximately 7:30 pm Monday evening, the FFD dispatched three fire units and a Battalion Chief to the report of a chimney fire at a private residence. First arriving units on scene found a chimney producing heavy amounts of black smoke and flames. Crews were able to contain the fire to the chimney and prevent extension into the attic or the rest of the home. Firefighters also remained on scene to assist with smoke removal from the residence. Pictured below is the FFD’s Quint 2, with its aerial platform extended for crews to gain access to the roof and chimney and work in a safe and efficient manner. Stay safe.
