Flagstaff PD Mourns Loss of Officer

Statement from the Flagstaff Police Department

Flagstaff, Ariz.- (March 13, 2019) It is with heavy hearts that members of the Flagstaff Police Department learned that Officer Daniel Beckwith died of an apparent suicide on March 12, 2019. Officer Beckwith had been with the Police Department since July of 2014. Officer Beckwith has been on paid leave since June of 2018 and living in the Mesa area since then, with his wife. On March 12, 2019 Mesa Police were called to Officer Beckwith’s residence regarding a report of a Suicidal Subject. Upon their arrival, he was discovered deceased by police. There were no other persons at the home when police arrived. At this time the family requests privacy; funeral arrangements are unknown at this time. The City of Flagstaff and the Flagstaff Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Officer Beckwith’s family and friends.
