FLAGSTAFF, AZ (April 6th, 2018): The Flagstaff Police Department is currently investigating two calls which involved the unlawful discharge of a firearm.

On Thursday April 5th, 2018 at 9:45 pm, Officers responded to a call at 813 W. Coy Drive in Flagstaff. Two of the occupants of the residence were home at the time.  One occupant indicated she heard a knock at the front door and then possibly a gun shot.   She woke up the other resident, who then discovered a rear patio glass door was shattered.  Upon investigation Officers found a live shell casing on the back patio as well as an empty shell casing.  Additional bullet fragments were found inside the kitchen area inside from the patio area.  It is believed the suspect fired through the back-patio door after entering the rear fenced yard.  The residents indicated after they initially awoke, they saw a man running south bound in front of their residence, who they suspect was involved.  This suspect was described as white male, approximately six feet tall and wearing tan pants and possibly a tan shirt. Police currently have no leads in this case.  If anyone has further information on this crime, we request they speak to detective Brad Conway, who can be reached at 928-679-4065.

On Thursday April 6th, 2018 at 10:59 pm, Officers responded to a call at 1925 N. East Street, # A.  A reporting party indicated they were inside when they heard approximately four to five shots fired. They immediately exited to see a small dark car speed away south on East Street.  Officers found two spent shell casings in the street, and located two bullet holes in a vehicle in front of the residence.  A third bullet hole was located entering the apartment through a wall and striking a door.

It does not appear these two crimes are related due to a difference in the shell casings found on scene. The Police Department is actively investigating both crimes, but has limited leads.  Persons who wish to provide information anonymously may do so through Silent Witness at 928-774-6111
