FLAGSTAFF POLICE DEPARTMENT
Cruelty to Animals P16-17446
On 11/20/2016, a Flagstaff citizen found a dog in the wash of the Rio De Flag near the 500 block of South Verde St. The dog had both its front and rear legs bound by duct tape and was unable to walk or stand. The citizen reported hearing barking the night before but didn’t realize the animal may be in danger at that time. After hearing the strange barking again the following day, the citizen located the dog at the bottom of the wash which was rising with water due to the rain and snow storm. The small dog was rescued, treated, and is reportedly in good physical condition. It is apparent the dog was left abandoned in the wash and the Flagstaff Police Department is currently investigating this as an act of animal cruelty.
If you have any information on this dog and or a possible owner, please contact Detective Conway with the Flagstaff Police Department at (928) 679-4065.
