THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FLAGSTAFF HAS ISSUED A * SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR… COCONINO COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ARIZONA… * UNTIL 330 PM MST * AT 128 PM MST, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN THE ADVISORY AREA. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN. * SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE… WALNUT CANYON NATIONAL MONUMENT, WINONA, LOWER LAKE MARY AND WALNUT CANYON VISITORS CENTER. **WALNUT CANYON IS THE MOST LIKELY PLACE TO EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES…WALNUT CREEK… SAN FRANCISCO WASH…YOUNGS CANYON AND HOWARD DRAW. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED, OR PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
