* UNTIL 645 PM MST

* AT 344 PM MST… DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS OVER SYCAMORE CREEK AND DRAINAGES WEST OF SEDONA. THIS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING IN THE ADVISORY AREA. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES… JD DAM WASH… OAK CREEK… DRY CREEK… SPRING CREEK… WEST FORK OAK CREEK… VERDE RIVER… COFFEE CREEK… SYCAMORE CREEK… TURKEY CREEK… TULE TANK WASH… VOLUNTEER WASH AND RAILROAD DRAW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS… MAKE THE SMART CHOICE: TURN AROUND… DON’T DROWN.
