Four suspects charged in Flagstaff homicide

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (September 15, 2017): The Flagstaff Police Department is completing an investigation into the murder of Jaron R. James (23 years of age, of Flagstaff, AZ) at 121 South Milton Road on September 7. 2017.

On 9-7-2017, at approximately 9:20 AM Officers with the Flagstaff Police Department responded to the L Motel in reference to a report of a deceased person in one of the rooms. Officers noted several injuries to the decedent. Mr. James was turned over to the custody of the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office and his death was ruled as a homicide. A thorough investigation was conducted and determined that Jayda Fortune (17 years of age, of Flagstaff, AZ), Lawrence Sampson-Kahn (18 years of age, of Flagstaff, AZ), Kayson Russell (19 years of age, of Flagstaff, AZ), and Mirelle Gorman (16 years of age, of Flagstaff, AZ) were involved in the death of Jaron James. To date all four suspects have been arrested, charged, and complaints have been filed for Homicide, Second Degree. No other subjects are being sought or thought to have been involved in this case.
