The Flagstaff Police Department is proud to announce the promotions of two officers on February 10, 2016.
Sergeant Collin Seay
Sergeant Collin Seay graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He was hired by the Flagstaff Police Department in July of 2006. In the last ten years of his career he has served as a Field Training Officer, a Crisis Intervention Team member, and a member of the SWAT Team. Sergeant Collin Seay has also been assigned as a detective with the Arizona State Gang Task Force (GIITEM). Sergeant Collin Sean is currently a trainer of Drug Recognition Experts through the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Collin has received several commendations and notable awards throughout his career including.

• A 2015 Lifesaving Award
In December of 2015 Sergeant Collin Seay completed his Master’s Degree in Administration and Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Corporal Michael Lavelle
Corporal Michael Lavelle began his career with the Flagstaff Police Department in 2004 after completing his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University. Corporal Lavelle has held various positions at the Flagstaff Police Department including the Honor Guard, Field Training Officer, and supervising the Phlebotomy Program. Corporal Lavelle served several years on the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force. Corporal Lavelle has been commended for his involvement in several high profile cases, including the capture of an armed robber during a robbery in progress of a coffee stand, the surveillance and arrest of a serial rapist, and the arrest of a triple homicide murder suspect.
Corporal Michael Lavelle prides himself on his investigative skills, his service to the community and fellow officers.
