Tuesday afternoon Flagstaff Fire was dispatched to a report of a man who had collapsed inside a east Flagstaff business. He was reported to not be breathing. Fire and Guardian crews arrived on scene and found a trained provider giving high quality CPR. Paramedics and EMT’s from both agencies quickly administered advanced life support. After additional rounds of CPR and three defibrillation shocks, the patient regained pulses and started breathing on his own. He was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center where he remains under medical supervision but in a stable condition.
From Flagstaff Fire:
The FFD would like to extend a special thank you to Evan Scott of Flagstaff who acted heroically when he witnessed a stranger collapse in front of him and had the keen awareness to start CPR. Your selfless actions saved a life yesterday.
EARLY CPR SAVES LIVES!
While this isn’t a breaking news story today, FLAGscanner wanted to share this story and stress the importance of getting yourself CPR certified. A major thanks to the good samaritan (Evan Scott) and Flagstaff Fire for your actions.
