I-17 Back OPEN in Both Directions Because of The Badger Springs Fire

Interstate 17 is now back open in both directions due to a brush fire at milepost 256, near Sunset Point, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The fire broke out Friday afternoon. Southbound was closed at milepost 259, Bloody Basin Road. Northbound was closed at milepost 252, Sunset Point. The brush fire, now named the Badger Springs fire in now over 1,000 acres at this time. ICT3-Williams assumed command, 1 air attack. 3 Airtankers incl DC10, 3 SEATs, 3 crews, 5 fire engines and numerous State/Local FDs.

The freeway was closed over night while crews worked on the fire.
