Flagstaff, Ariz- On Sunday December 23, 2018 the Flagstaff Police Department responded to several calls regarding rabid foxes in the Continental Country Club area.

A fox that is believed to be rabid attacked a citizen in the area of Settlers Run and Bear Paw. The fox jumped into the bed of a pick-up truck and bit the citizen. The fox then ran off and we believe it was later captured a few hours later in the area of Taylor and Hulet after another attack was reported. Also, yesterday a fox believed to be rabid was captured in the area of Aztec and Cherry after it attacked and bit a citizen.

The public is reminded to be cautious regarding wild animals. Do not approach them and do not try to feed them. If you see any wild animals acting in an uncharacteristic manner watch them from a safe distance and call 911 immediately.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Flagstaff Police Department (928)774-1414 or Silent Witness at (928)774-6111.
