Person Stuck in Church Ceiling (Flagstaff)

May 12th, 2016 at 7:37 PM

This afternoon a Youth Minister at a local church on Soliere Dr. in East Flagstaff was doing work in the church attic when he fell partially through the ceiling, dislocating his knee and becoming stuck in the attic space with no reasonable means of egress from the situation.

The Flagstaff Fire Department was called to the scene via 911. Paramedics and EMTs from the Fire Department and Guardian Medical Transport stabilized and managed the patient’s pain. Specially trained Technical Rescue Technicians from FFDs ladder truck, Quint 2, secured the patient to a harness system and lowered him by rope through a space created in the building’s ceiling. He was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center via GMT for further treatment.13173843_1395393067154475_5406571071844272902_n

First responders worked carefully to avoid injury to emergency personnel while providing swift and excellent care to the patient. FFD wants to remind our citizens that accidents do happen and your fire department is well trained and capable of handling a wide array of incidents that occur in our community. It is our pleasure to serve.
