Flagstaff Police thwarted a potential suicide situation Tuesday night at the Safeway grocery store on Plaza Way in Flagstaff. According to the police report, Officers were called out to the scene after a woman in a wheelchair, accompanied by her service dog, threatened to commit suicide with a large knife. Officer’s negotiated with the woman for a short amount of time before ultimately convincing her to drop the knife. The report states the woman finally put down the weapon when she recognized one of the police Sergeants on scene. She was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment and observation. No charges have been filed.
