Flagstaff, Ariz., November 5, 2018, For Immediate Release — Flagstaff Fire Department fire managers are partnering with Coconino County Parks & Recreation to reintroduce fire into the Ponderosa pine forest and reduce hazardous fuel accumulation on Rogers Lake Natural Area.
The proposed area is approximately 20 miles southwest of Flagstaff and is approximately 100 acres in size.
Smoke may visible to motorists along Interstate 17, as well as residents of Flagstaff. Smoke impacts may affect visitors in the immediate vicinity of Rogers Lake Natural Area.
Dependent upon weather conditions, this prescribed burn may be cancelled if conditions prove unsuitable.
