Summit Fire Responds to four critical calls on Monday

At 0243 hours, SFD responded to a report of two semis that crashed on the Winona overpass.  SFD units arrived to a semi that sideswiped another semi and emptied its contents onto I-40.  No injuries were reported, but a dog involved with the scene was deceased on arrival.  Two SFD engines and a Battalion Chief, Guardian Medical, CCSO and DPS were at the scene.

At 1220 hours SFD responded two engines and a Battalion Chief to a report of an ill patient at the Winona Shell.  The patient was in full cardiac arrest upon arrival, SFD, Guardian Medical, and CCSO were at the scene.  Resuscitation efforts were performed but were unsuccessful.   Efforts were terminated and the patient was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

At 1236 hours SFD responded an engine and Battalion Chief to MP 440 on Highway 89 for a report of a single vehicle rollover in a ditch.  DPS, CCSO, SFD, and Guardian Medical arrived to a vehicle on its top with the driver pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver possibly crashed his vehicle in the early hours of the morning and the scene went unnoticed until ADOT spotted the crash in the drainage ditch while mowing along Highway 89.  No other injuries were reported at the scene.  

At 1540 hours SFD responded two engines and a Battalion Chief to MP 219 for a report of a single vehicle rollover with multiple ejections.  Guardian Medical responded two ambulances and a Battalion Chief to the scene.  Guardian Air and DPS Ranger were also dispatched to the scene.  Two patients were found on arrival that had been ejected from a high speed rollover, both patients were deemed critical.  Crews provided Advanced Life Support and both patients were airlifted to FMC in critical condition.  

All scenes are under investigation by law enforcement.   Today was a busy day for all emergency services in and around the Summit Fire and Medical District.  Thanks to all the supporting agency’s for your services within our community!
