Coconino County Sheriff’s office with assistance from State Troopers and Flagstaff Police SWAT team apprehended 33 year old Daniel Lykins of Flagstaff after a lengthy standoff and pursuit Tuesday. State Troopers caught Lykins driving a stolen van on north-bound I-17 near Cottonwood and attempted to pull him over, but he fled. Stop sticks were used to disable the van near the Munds Park exit. Lykins then fled on foot near the Chevron Station in Munds Park. Police were able to track him down to a home where he refused to surrender by barricading himself inside. Roughly 2 hours later Flagstaff SWAT apprehended Lykins. No one was hurt. In May of 2017, Lykins was involved in an armed robbery and another pursuit on I-17.
