Arizona State Troopers ave confirmed with Flagscanner that one person was killed in an accident that occurred on Interstate 17 near Lake Mary Rd Thursday morning. The victim, lost control of his Volkswagen Beetle around 6am and crashed head-on into a light pole according to a spokesperson with DPS. Paramedics attempted to save the victim using CPR, but he was eventually pronounced deceased. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
