Traffic stop on I-40 in Flagstaff leads to major drug arrest

On Thursday, December 30, 2021, an AZDPS trooper stopped the driver of an Infiniti sedan traveling east on Interstate 40 at milepost 207, in Flagstaff. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 12.25 pounds of fentanyl pills, 16.75 pounds of heroin, one pound of raw marijuana, and 279 THC wax electronic cigars.
The driver, 21-year-old Jairo Castillo of Espanola, was arrested and booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges including transportation of a narcotic drug for sale and transportation of marijuana for sale.
