Frome the City of Flagstaff Water Services: On Saturday, January 20, at approximately 6:45 pm, Flagstaff Water Services Distribution Crew received a call about a probable water line break at 3050 E Rte. 66. The Water Distribution crew of four personnel responded immediately. An 8” water main had failed, with flooding affecting Rte. 66. Shut-off valves located nearby isolated the break to four businesses. Water was shut-off by 7:30 pm. The crew worked nonstop throughout the night to replace a six-foot section of 8” water main, restoring water service by 2:30 am Sunday morning. The right, westbound lane of Rte. 66 was closed during the repairs. Work continued until 5 am, on cleanup efforts. This is an example of the efficient response and behind-the-scenes work performed by Flagstaff Water Services crew. And yes, this occurred during the first snow event of our season. While we were all warm in our houses, this crew jumped in and got the job done, under frigid conditions.
Hats off to our dedicated, professional staff keeping your water treated, tested, safe and FLOWING!
