THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FLAGSTAFF HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR… COCONINO COUNTY EAST FLAGSTAFF AREA IN NORTH CENTRAL ARIZONA… * UNTIL 330 PM MST * AT 1229 PM MST, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. UP TO ONE INCH OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY. * SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE… EAST FLAGSTAFF, DOWNTOWN FLAGSTAFF AND FLAGSTAFF MALL. SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE FLAGSTAFF AREA OF COCONINO COUNTY UNTIL 1245 PM MST… AT 1153 AM MST, DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR FERNWOOD TO NEAR FORT VALLEY. MOVEMENT WAS SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH. NICKEL SIZE HAIL AND WINDS IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE… FLAGSTAFF, FORT VALLEY, FLAGSTAFF MALL, SUNSET CRATER VOLCANO NATIONAL MONUMENT, TIMBERLINE, HUTCHISON ACRES, COSNINO, WINONA, BONITO CAMPGROUND AT SUNSET CRATER, DOWNTOWN FLAGSTAFF, DONEY PARK, WUPATKI TRAILS, FERNWOOD, WALNUT CANYON NATIONAL MONUMENT, SUNSET CRATER VISITORS CENTER, WALNUT CANYON VISITORS CENTER, LOCKETT MEADOW CAMPGROUND, ARIZONA SNOWBOWL AND LITTLE ELDEN SPRING HORSE CAMP. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR COCONINO COUNTY WILL EXPIRE AT 1245 PM MST… THE STORM WHICH PROMPTED THE WARNING HAS WEAKENED BELOW SEVERE LIMITS, AND NO LONGER POSE AN IMMEDIATE THREAT TO LIFE OR PROPERTY. THEREFORE THE WARNING WILL BE ALLOWED TO EXPIRE. HOWEVER HEAVY RAIN IS STILL POSSIBLE WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM.
