From CCSO: October 18th at approximately 9:30pm, Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Munds Park area for a report of a domestic violence involving discharge of a firearm and criminal damage.
Upon the arrival of deputies at the location on Trail Winds Place they found the suspect, 37-year-old Wesley Deam, had left the scene possibly heading to his father’s residence located nearby. Upon investigating, deputies found there had been a domestic violence altercation between Deam and his girlfriend who resides at the residence with her 3 young children. Deam allegedly broke out windows of the residence and vehicle present at the address with a hammer. During this time a handgun was also discharged.
Due to the involvement and discharge of the weapon, Northern Arizona Regional SWAT team was called in to assist with the search of residences where the suspect may have been located. Investigators responded to the father’s residence and learned Deam had been there but left to a friend’s house located nearby. Further investigation revealed Deam had been at the friend’s residence and left again prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Deam was located a short time later at a vacant residence and taken into custody without incident.
Deam was booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility on multiple charges of felony and misdemeanor Criminal Damage, Weapons Misconduct, Disorderly Conduct, and Misconduct involving a Weapon. Deam was also booked on a felony warrant out of California.
The incident is still under investigation and no further information is currently available.
