WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM TO 8 PM MST THURSDAY ABOVE 6000 FEET
Winter Weather Advisory issued March 29 at 1:54PM MST until March 30 at 8:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ
* WHAT…A cold front will bring a period of steady snow to the
region in the early morning hours Thursday, especially for a
few hours after sunrise. Snow will become more showery later
Thursday morning, before heavier showers develop again Thursday
afternoon and Thursday evening. Snow levels will fall as low as
4500 feet through the day Thursday, but most accumulation will
be above 6000 feet. Expect southwest winds gusting from 40 to 45
mph at times.
* WHERE…Areas above 6000 feet near Doney Park, Flagstaff,
Forest Lakes, Heber-Overgaard and Williams.
* WHEN…From 5 AM to 8 PM MST Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Travel could be
very difficult at times. Hazardous conditions will especially
impact driving conditions Thursday morning and again Thursday
evening. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
Snow forecast from 5 AM Thursday to 8 PM Thursday:
Doney Park 1 to 3 inches Flagstaff 3 to 5 inches
Forest Lakes 3 to 5 inches Heber-Overgaard 0 to 1 inches
Williams 1 to 3 inches.
