4:14 PM Flagstaff Police, DPS, and Fire are all responding to the area of mile marker 194 on I-40 in the median for approximately 10 trees on fire. Several fire units are en route. This is just west of I-17. Real-time updates to follow.
UPDATE 4:26 PM: Crews on the scene say the fire has slow growth rate and is approximately 0.25 acres.
UPDATE 4:28 PM: Crews have a line around the west end of the fire. Forest Service is also on the scene.
FINAL UPDATE 4:39 PM: Forward progress has been stopped on this fire. Named the Purple Fire.
