The Flagstaff Police Department has confirmed the discovery of the remains of Kelly Paduchowski, a 45-year-old resident who was reported missing last Sunday. The remains were located earlier today around 10 a.m. The exact location of the discovery has not been disclosed by authorities at this time.
Investigative efforts tracked Kelly Paduchowski’s phone to the Schultz Creek Trail area at approximately 10:20 a.m. last Sunday. Subsequently, her husband, 58-year-old Daniel Paduchowski, was also observed in the vicinity around 11:30 a.m. Kelly’s phone later returned to their shared residence in the Coconino Estates neighborhood at approximately 12:13 p.m. The couple’s white Mazda CX-5, along with Daniel, was spotted at the Campbell Mesa Trailhead around 1:30 p.m. Daniel Paduchowski reported Kelly missing later that evening at 7:39 p.m., suggesting she might be in the Lake Mary area.
The investigation involved extensive interviews with family members and witnesses, as well as thorough evidence processing. This led to the arrest of Daniel Paduchowski on charges of aggravated assault and drug possession. He is currently detained at the Coconino County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
Court documents reveal that blood evidence was discovered around the Paduchowski residence, and neighbors reported hearing an argument in the couple’s backyard on Sunday.
A press conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. today to provide further details and address any questions from the media and public.
