Large Methamphetamine Seizure Following Traffic Stop in Flagstaff



Flagstaff, AZ — On August 9, 2024, a routine traffic stop by the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit led to the significant seizure of methamphetamine on Interstate 40.

At approximately 2:48 a.m., a K9 Deputy initiated the stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound near mile post 195 in Flagstaff. During the encounter, the Deputy noticed inconsistencies in the driver’s statements, raising suspicions of potential criminal activity.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 40 pounds of methamphetamine. The driver, along with two passengers, was arrested and booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility on charges of Transportation of Dangerous Drugs for Sale.
