The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office continues their investigation into the deaths of two subjects located at a campground south of Stoneman Lake Rd on September 9, 2024.
On 9/9/24 at approximately 3:53 PM, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two unresponsive subjects in a vehicle south of Stoneman Lake Rd. When deputies arrived the two subjects were found to be outside of their vehicle at a dispersed campsite. Both were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident as a suspected homicide/suicide.
The two subjects are not being identified due to the on-going investigation. Both subjects are adult family members from the Phoenix Metro area. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is not looking for any outstanding subjects and there are no on-going concerns for public safety regarding this incident.
This matter is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
