Zuni Drive Reconstruction Project to begin Oct. 21, Lucky Lane Reconstruction Project ahead of schedule

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz – As part of the annual Road Repair and Street Safety Program, the City and its contractor, C & E Paving and Grading, are reconstructing portions of Zuni Drive and Lucky Lane in Flagstaff.

The Zuni Drive Reconstruction Project will impact the portion of Zuni Drive between Leupp Drive and Lone Tree Road. The project will begin on Monday, Oct. 21 and is scheduled to be complete Friday, Nov. 8. During the project, the impacted portion of Zuni Drive will be reduced to a single lane and flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists should expect brief delays of up to 15 minutes when traveling through the area. Pedestrians should utilize the Sinclair Wash Trail to the north of the work zone. Bicycle access along Zuni Drive will be maintained throughout the project.

The Lucky Lane Reconstruction Project began on Sept. 30 and is running ahead of schedule. The work is being performed in three phases. Phases 1 and 2 were completed on Oct. 11 and Phase 3 will now start on Monday, Oct 14. During Phase 3, a small portion of Lucky Lane will be fully closed and access to businesses will be maintained through alternate driveways. Through traffic on Lucky Lane will need to follow detour signage and utilize Jay Street to Huntington Drive.

Please be aware of loud noise and construction equipment within the work zones. The City and its contractor are taking all possible measures to minimize the impact of this work on local residents and businesses.

The annual Road Repair and Street Safety program is funded by Flagstaff voters’ 2014 approval of

Proposition 406, a $100 million, 20-year dedicated sales tax for road repair and street safety projects.
