7:46 AM Flagstaff Fire Department is responding to the area of Izabel and 6th ave for a report of a small brush fire that has started. Police are also responding. The person calling it in is an off duty fireman.
UPDATE 7:58 AM: Flagstaff Police are on the scene saying they have a confirmed active fire. It is currently roughly 10 yards from power lines.
UPDATE 8:03 AM: The fire department is on the scene. They have a small fire with a downed tree and are making access from the rear of the apartment complex. Additional engines are NOT needed at this time and no structures are threatened.
UPDATE 8:06 AM: Batallion 1 has assumed command. This is being called the Izabel Fire. Forest Service has been advised of the situation. Flagstaff Engine 3 and Engine 106 (wildland fire truck) are on the scene and should be able to handle this.
UPDATE 8:30 AM: Units are available, and the fire is pretty much out. One engine will remain at the scene.
