Next gathering set for Thursday, July 31 at 11:30 a.m.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — What started as a simple idea among neighbors has grown into one of the most anticipated meals of the month at The Bluffs of Flagstaff senior living community. The monthly potluck is quickly becoming a beloved local tradition — and everyone’s invited.

More than 50 residents showed up to the last gathering, armed with their best dishes, foil-covered trays, and a whole lot of hospitality. The menu? A comfort food dream: cornbread, baked beans, mixed veggies, fresh watermelon, creamy mac and cheese — and not one, not two, but at least three kinds of casserole.

“It started with just a handful of residents wanting to share their cooking,” said Andy Auteri, Executive Director at The Bluffs. “Now we’re wondering if we need to borrow a banquet hall. People are already asking when the next one is!”

The format is refreshingly simple: no sign-up sheets, no strict rules. Just bring a dish, bring your appetite, and maybe be ready to compare mac and cheese recipes with someone twice your age — or half.

The next potluck is scheduled for Thursday, July 31 at 11:30 a.m. at The Bluffs of Flagstaff. Community members and local media are warmly encouraged to attend — whether you’re there to chat with residents, staff, or just enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal.
