At 4:30 p.m. ccso deputies and EMS were responding to Forest Service Road 125 which lies in the area south of Happy Jack along Lake Mary Road for reports of a female that has been shot. Initial reports are that a child accidentally discharged a firearm and struck the mother while on a hunting trip. One of the family members is currently driving with the victim to meet Medical and law enforcement. We have reached out to Coconino County Sheriff’s Office for comment. At this time they have said they are actively working the incident, which appears to be an accidental shooting, but do not have any additional details to add at this time.
UPDATE: A medical helicopter has landed and is now transporting the victim to the hospital.
