HOLBROOK, Ariz. — An officer-involved shooting occurred late Saturday morning following a vehicle pursuit and standoff east of Holbrook, according to the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office and DPS.
At approximately 10:09 a.m. on December 13, deputies with the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS) with a vehicle pursuit along Interstate 40 near milepost 303 in the Goodwater area. The pursuit ultimately ended east of Holbrook, where the suspect vehicle came to a stop and a standoff ensued.
During the incident, an officer-involved shooting occurred. At this time, no information has been released regarding any injuries to officers or civilians.
Authorities say the scene is currently secure; however, law enforcement personnel will remain in the area for an undetermined amount of time as the investigation continues. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
