11:50 AM USFS Law Enforcement Officers are asking for CCSO and EMS to respond to mile marker 223 on US 180 near Snow Bowl for an assault that just occurred. A male assaulted a female and ran off into the woods. Officers are out with the female victim now.
UPDATE 1:44 PM DPS Ranger Helicopter and CCSO K9 is assisting in the search for the male suspect who fled into the wooded area. This incident is unfolding approximately 23 miles north of Flagstaff along Highway 180. A suspect description has not been provided over the air. We have called CCSO for further information.
UPDATE 2:10 PM DPS Ranger 3 Helicopter is overhead the scene.
UPDATE 2:35 PM DPS Ranger Helicopter has been cleared from the scene and is returning to their base. Suspect still has not been located.
