Flagstaff Police Identify Man Killed by Passing Train Saturday Evening

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — September 14, 2024 — At approximately 5:50 PM, Flagstaff Police Department officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train near the Industrial Ave and Huntington Dr intersection. BNSF Railway employees initially reported the incident.

Upon arrival, officers found the individual deceased at the scene. The victim, a male, has been identified as Earl Daw, 43, of Kayenta, AZ.

The Flagstaff Police Department reminds the public that it is both unlawful and dangerous for pedestrians to be on railroad tracks except at designated crossings. Please use crossings safely and adhere to all safety guidelines.

Upon arrival, officers found the individual deceased at the scene. The victim, a male, has not yet been identified as he did not have any identification on him at the time of the accident. Efforts are underway to determine his identity.

5:53 PM Flagstaff Police and EMS are responding to a pedestrian that was hit by train near the Country Club Bridge/ Nestlé Purina side. BNSF saying they hit a person and all trains are stopped. Update: Victim has been located. Due to the nature of injuries, we are unable to provide an update for a couple hours in accordance to our policy.
