BREAKING: One Person Critically Injured, Suspect in Custody Following Shooting in East Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A heavy police presence has responded to the 5400 block of Penstock following a reported shooting Wednesday morning.

According to emergency radio traffic, the incident began at approximately 9:22 a.m. when a caller reported that they had just shot another person multiple times.

By 9:32 a.m., Flagstaff Police officers located the victim and immediately requested paramedics respond urgently. The victim was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center in trauma-critical condition after suffering at least one gunshot wound to the neck.

Police have established a crime scene in the area while investigators work to determine what led up to the shooting.

At the time the victim was located, the suspect had fled and no description was immediately available.

UPDATE – 9:37 a.m.: Flagstaff Police have located the suspect, who is now in custody.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the relationship between the suspect and victim, remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet released additional information about the victim’s condition or any potential charges.

UPDATE 10:08 AM. We have a reporter on the scene and are awaiting a statement from Police. There is an obvious covered body on the scene.

UPDATE 10:19 AM: Per Flagstaff Police, all involved persons are accounted for, and there is no threat to the public.
