Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, CCSO Deputies received an attempt to locate all points bulletin for a vehicle involved in an unknown crime along Highway 89 near Silver Saddle. Soon after the attempt to locate was put out, a ccso deputy located the vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed in the area of Townsend Winona and Slayton Ranch. A Pursuit was initiated and speeds reached over 100 mph. At one point the suspect was driving into opposing traffic, in the median, and through neighborhoods. At the intersection of Stardust and Jupiter, the Deputy’s patrol vehicle brakes failed and he slammed into the rear of the suspect’s car, disabling it. The suspect was injured in the collision but the Deputy was not. Medics transported the suspect, an adult male with California ID in his early twenties to Flagstaff Medical Center in unknown condition. He was also read his Miranda rights and placed under arrest.
