Explosion at Flagstaff Gas Station This Morning (FREE POST)



This morning, the FFD responded to a gas vapor explosion at the Chevron on Milton Road. While a gas truck was filling the fuel tanks at the gas station, multiple vacationers at a hotel across the street witnessed the explosion, ignited from an unknown origin. Witnesses stated the gas station awning shook and a 15-foot fire ball was seen shooting from the roof. There were reports of recent electrical work that may have provided an ignition point. Q1 arrived and investigated the scene for fire extension and further safety concerns. No other problems were identified. Management at the gas station was advised to have the system evaluated and repaired as needed. No injuries were reported.
