Newly Opened Saigon North Restaurant Damaged in Early Morning Fire in Munds Park

MUNDS PARK, Ariz. — A newly opened restaurant in Munds Park was heavily damaged by an early morning fire Friday after multiple motorists traveling along Interstate 17 reported seeing smoke and flames rising from the area.

According to initial radio traffic, the first calls for service came in at approximately 4:30 a.m., when drivers on I-17 reported visible flames and heavy smoke near Munds Park.

Pinewood Fire Department crews responded within minutes and arrived to find a structure in the 17600 block of Fairway Drive fully engulfed in flames.

The building has been identified as Saigon North Restaurant, which had opened less than a month ago, according to recent social media posts announcing its grand opening.

Fortunately, no one was inside the building, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and fire officials have not yet determined what sparked the blaze.
