The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Snow Squall Warning for…
Coconino County in north central Arizona…
Yavapai County in west central Arizona…

* Until 1045 AM MST.

* At 1010 AM MST, a dangerous snow squall was across the area
including Flagstaff, Munds Park, Doney Park and Bellemont.

HAZARD…Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
greater than 35 mph.

SOURCE…Radar and webcams.

IMPACT…Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are
expected to develop rapidly in the warning area.

This includes the following highways…
Route 66 between mile markers 192 and 204.
Interstate 40 between mile markers 184 and 218.
Interstate 17 between mile markers 310 and 339.
State Route 89A between mile markers 377 and 398.
U.S. Highway 89 between mile markers 419 and 431.
Highway 180 between mile markers 217 and 226.

Locations impacted include…
Flagstaff, Fisher Point, Macann Estates, Downtown Flagstaff,
Bellemont, Junipine Resort, Camp Navajo, Garland’s Oak Creek Lodge,
University Heights, Pine Mountain Estates, Thorpe Park, Little Elden
Springs Horse Camp, Cheshire, Flagstaff Ranch, Harding Spring
Trailhead, Wing Mountain, Flagstaff Mall, Ashurst Lake, Locket Meadow
CG, and Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.

Recommended Actions

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
