FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Drivers in the Butler Avenue and Lone Tree Road area should prepare for traffic impacts next week as crews continue work on the Lone Tree Overpass and Corridor Project.

According to the City of Flagstaff, Lone Tree Road will be fully closed in both directions between Butler Avenue and Franklin Avenue from May 11 through May 15. The temporary closure is needed to allow crews to install roadway pavement as part of the ongoing construction project.

City officials say two lanes of traffic will remain open on Butler Avenue throughout the closure to help minimize disruptions.

The City anticipates Butler Avenue will reopen to four lanes of traffic in late May or early June. Construction activity on Lone Tree Road south of Butler Avenue is expected to continue through the summer construction season.

The Lone Tree Overpass and Corridor Project is designed to improve traffic flow and safety by creating a new north-south roadway connection extending Lone Tree Road between Butler Avenue and Route 66. The project is funded through the voter-approved Proposition 419 and Proposition 420 measures passed in 2018.

Additional information about the project can be found at Lone Tree Overpass Project Website.
