The City of Flagstaff’s Seasonal Parking Restrictions, Flagstaff City Code: 9-1-1-3 (Winter Parking Ordinance) states there is NO PARKING on city streets or alleyways from midnight to 7:00 a.m.  This is to allow for safe snow removal operations and street sweeping operations when it is not snowing.  This parking restriction is enforced whether it is snowing or not. Please plan for alternative parking arrangements in preparation for the season parking restriction.

There are exemptions to the restrictions contained within the ordinance for the downtown area and exempted areas to the parking prohibition.  Please refer to the ordinance for these exemptions.

In addition to the Seasonal Parking Restrictions, the City of Flagstaff also requires sidewalks be cleared after snowfall. The “Safe Sidewalks” initiative reminds you of municipal codes that prohibit dirt, cinders, snow, ice, vegetation or any other obstruction from remaining on public sidewalks.

“Any owner, occupant, tenant or person caring for any building, lot or parcel of land that borders a public sidewalk is responsible for clearing those sidewalks. All accumulated snow, ice and debris must be removed within 24 hours after accumulation ends.”

Noncompliance: If sidewalks are not maintained, the City of Flagstaff may perform the required cleaning.
